The following is an excerpt from Hot and Cold Health by R. G. Heft (Acupuncture Physician FL 1992- 2002) based on traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicines and the questioning and counseling of 10,000+ Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is based on the theory, observation that everything is an ongoing balance of opposites, many of which we control through diet, exercise, sex, thought, etc.

Know the whole before attempting to diagnose and or treat the part, as you cannot cure the part ithout curing the whole. The whole is equal to and greater than the sum of its parts. If you cannot afford or do not want to risk your money ($20 or less), then I will send, email you the E Book (Adobe file, 1,005 KB) for free. Your health is more important than my bank account. Email me (rgheft@netzero.com) your request or questions. Peace.

Diarrhea is frequent and or loose stools. It has many causes: poor diet, indigestion, contaminated water, bacterial infection, drugs, spoiled foods, caffeine, magnesium supplements, laxatives, antibiotics, excessive alcohol, etc. Diarrhea can also be a symptom of inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, Crohn’s Disease, etc. depending on additional symptoms. Diarrhea, loose stools is generally treated with diet, herbs and or drugs, depending on the severity.

The body digests, transforms food, nutrients into blood, into structure into function. Whatever food, nutrients, non-nutrients not digested, absorbed becomes waste that is sent down to the large intestine for temporary storage and eventual elimination. The stools are made from food, nutrients and non-nutrients (includes fiber). There are only two kinds of nutrients: building and cleansing. Building nutrients (protein and fat) build, thicken, fuel, heat, etc. Cleansing nutrients (water, sugar, minerals, etc.) reduce, cleanse, cool and moisten.

Protein and fat are thick, sticky nutrients. They hold together the stools, giving them form. Water, sugar, minerals, fruit, vegetables and grains (bread, pasta, cookies, pretzels, etc.) contain water, sugar, minerals, etc. that dilute and loosen the stools. They also contain fiber that naturally absorbs, swells with water, fluids giving the stools bulk.

The correct combination of building and cleansing foods, drinks produces the correct amount, quantity and quality of stool. Normal, healthy stools are banana shaped, firm, buoyant and relatively odorless. Unhealthy stools are loose, dry, frequent, infrequent, constipated and or stinky.

Too many cleansing foods, cold drinks, fluids (water, fruit, vegetables, juices, milk, ice cream, etc) dilute and weaken digestion, acid and enzymes, which in turn, dilutes, weakens and loosens the stools, causing diarrhea and or constipation in addition bloating, gas, burping, etc. Raw, uncooked foods (salads, fruits, juices, etc.) tend to loosen the stools more so than cooked foods.

The middle diet, daily meal plan, adjusted accordingly is recommended. Spices (cardamom, coriander, cumin, cayenne, ginger, fennel, turmeric, cinnamon, etc.) increase digestion, eliminate excess water: mucous, phlegm, diarrhea, etc. and counter; kill obnoxious bacteria, fungi, etc.

In Ayurvedic medicine, many spices, 7+ are used in cooking. Each spice has similar and different healing properties: turmeric (anti inflammatory, digestive aid); fennel (liver, digestion), cardamom (aids in digestion of dairy), cinnamon and ginger (prevention and treatment of common cold, earaches), etc. Spices are contraindicated when there is dryness. See Chapter 3, for more information.

Peppermint tea helps counter, dry diarrhea. The best advice, when suffering from diarrhea, is to eat light (vegetable broth, little spice) until it ends. If chronic, consult a doctor. Milk is difficult to digest, which is why it is often drunk alone. With other foods (cereal), it tends to cause indigestion, abdominal bloating, gas, loose stools, etc.

Constipation is infrequent and or dry stools that are difficult to pass. The stools are made from food and bacteria. Food contains nutrients and non-nutrients (includes fiber). There are only two kinds of nutrients: building (protein and fat) and cleansing (water, minerals, sugar, etc.) Protein and fat build thicken and dry. Water, minerals, etc. moisten and loosen. The correct combination produces the correct elimination, stools. The incorrect produces constipation, loose stools, diarrhea, etc.

Too much protein and fat (includes cholesterol) and or too little carbohydrates (grains, vegetables and fruits) tend to dry, thin and harden the stools. Too many carbohydrates (fruits, vegetables) tend to loosen the stools. Too little fiber tends to loosen the stools. Too many spices in addition to smoking, coffee and alcohol, in the extreme, also tend to dry the stools.

The frequency and movement of stools are controlled largely by digestion and respiration Digestion transforms (reduces the size of food into its smallest component parts: nutrients and non-nutrients) and transports, moves food down via peristaltic wave-like contractions of muscles located the small intestine. The diaphragm is muscular partition that divides the chest from the abdomen. It moves up and down as the lungs expand and contract, massaging the intestines, increasing peristaltic action, movement of food from the small intestine to the large intestine. Exercise and deep breathing increase peristalsis.

Protein and fat build and fuel all function. Long-term low protein and low fat diets, in the extreme, tend to weaken all function, including digestion and elimination. Weak digestion increases waste product as all foods, nutrients not digested, absorbed become waste (sent to the large intestine). It also tends to loosen the stools, as there is less protein and fat to harden, form.

Water, sugar, minerals, fruits, vegetables, and grains reduce cleanse, cool and moisten. In excess, especially when eaten at the beginning of the meal, tend to dilute, weaken and slow digestion, elimination making the stools loose, watery and or infrequent, dry, constipated, painful. Diverticulitis (pockets) may also occur.

The middle diet, meal plan (Hot and Cold Health, Chapter 2), adjusted accordingly is recommended. Always eat from hot (building) to cold (cleansing), with a little fruit at the end of the meal. Try black or white fungus, and or mushrooms, which are moistening, mucilaginous, slide easily through the body. Use oil, 1 TB of olive or sesame oil in cooking. Snack on fruit: apples, pineapple, etc. especially at night (as long as the stools are not loose, watery). Eat a light, early dinner. A heavy dinner or late night eating tends to cause constipation. Reduce pasta, bread, cookies, doughnuts, pretzels, coffee, alcohol and smoking which are all drying, constipating. Check with your doctor first before making any changes.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) (also known as intestinal neurosis, mucous colitis and or spastic colitis) is a common digestive disorder with the following symptoms: abdominal bloating, pain, gas, nausea, mucous in the stools, constipation, diarrhea, colitis (inflammation) and or anorexia. It tends to attack women, twice as much as men and is. It is generally cause by poor diet.

Many women tend to eat low protein, low fat and high carbohydrate diets. Protein and fat build and fuel. Long-term low protein and low fat, in the extreme, tend to weaken all structure and function, including digestion and elimination. Less food, nutrients is absorbed, transformed into blood, more becomes waste, as all food, nutrients not digested, absorbed, becomes waste sent to the large intestine for temporary storage and eventual elimination from the body.

Too many carbohydrates (salads, tropical fruits, juices, smoothies, shakes, etc.), especially at the beginning of the meal, tend to dilute and weaken digestion, acid and enzymes, slowing the movement of food producing abdominal bloating, gas; while increasing watery waste, loose stools, diarrhea. Constipation may also occur. Weak digestion weakens, slows elimination.

.

The middle diet, meal plan adjusted accordingly is recommended. Cooked foods, spices and eating more during the day increase digestion and elimination. Eating big dinners, and or eating late weaken digestion and elimination.

Case history: One of my customers (health food store) was suffering from IBS. Her daily, weekly symptoms were abdominal bloating, gas, loose stools, constipation, headaches and swelling (her arms and legs were swollen twice their size). I diagnosed her condition as a cold and damp spleen. She was eating low protein, low fat and high carbohydrate (salads and juices) diet. Her spleen, digestion became producing the aforementioned symptoms. I recommended the middle diet, meal plan, especially spices in addition to a reduction in cold foods, drinks. Week by week her condition got better, hotter, stronger. Nine months later, most of her symptoms had disappeared, including the swelling in her arms and legs. She was very happy. A year later, her symptoms came back. She was still worried about her health and had gone to see a nutritionist who had recommended golden seal, nine capsules a day. Golden seal is a cold, bitter herb. I had originally diagnosed coldness (includes deficiency) as the cause of her condition, which she re-aggravated once she started taking more, concentrated cold in the form of golden seal. I refused to sell her the golden seal, she had ordered. I gave up a hefty profit

It is not surprising that food has got something to do with the causes of irritable bowel syndrome. After all, it is in the intestinal tract that we process foods. Thus, what we eat normally affects the way our intestines function.

Changes in our diet would certainly create effects on the fashion by which we digest foods. This then will change the chemical interaction involved in the processing of these crucial substances.

However, Irritable Bowel Syndrome does not deal with chemical interactions alone. It is basically a functional disorder that borders more on the abnormalities of functions that don’t often project actual or physical complications. In fact, this is the exact reason why the nature of the disease is not yet fully known. Add to it the fact that most factors involved are under subjective details, which also require subjective treatments. This alone is enough to conclude why there is lack of concrete knowledge on the true characteristics of the syndrome.

Though we know for a fact that all these contribute to the development of the syndrome and the consequential attacks of symptoms, the medical community cannot still provide a comprehensive treatment plan for all patients to eliminate IBS.

Thus, any activities that would result to the removal of these factors will create lesser chances of triggering the attacks.

One best way of doing this is through following of a diet plan that would remove problematic foods while supplementing them with foods helpful in improving the symptoms.

While foods may not actually act as root causes of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, their effects are still substantial enough. It is good to note however that there is no fixed formula for creating the diet for Irritable Bowel syndrome. The results will always lie on the strategic combination of foods to promote lesser symptoms and healthier intestinal tract.

Trigger foods are obviously those who create tension in the stomach which then causes it to function in an abnormal manner. Some of the trigger foods are those which have high fat content while very low in fiber content. Oils, cream, poultry skin, fried foods, and coconut milk are among the most common foods that cause problems.

Fats are known to create a slower digestion in the stomach. The more time it takes the intestinal bacteria to digest foods, the higher the risk of creating gas thus, most patients of Irritable Bowel syndrome suffer from intestinal gas which in itself is also associated with diarrhea, bloating, constipation and other major symptoms.

Foods with high caffeine content like coffee, chocolate, and carbonate rinks are also known to trigger Irritable Bowel syndrome. Therefore, these must be eliminated from your list of foods so that you can get around from the likelihood of stimulating the rise of abdominal complications.

Meanwhile, to facilitate better movements of the stool in the colon, it is best that you take extra amounts of dietary fiber. This is especially true for those who suffer from constipation-dominant irritable bowel.

Constipation is marked by compacted stool or too loose stool. Fiber acts as the neutralizer since it adds bulk to the stool to administer easier expulsion from the system.

Fiber can be acquired from natural resources such as vegetables and fruits, nuts, brown rice, figs, peas, French bread, raisings, soybeans, and a number of others.

Irritable bowel syndrome is a condition that can be characterized with several symptoms. Hence, it is very important to reach to the root cause of the problem in order to determine better treatments to improve the condition.

First, it is very important to start on with a diet that’s meant to improve the condition. Understand that there are certain problematic foods that can trigger off symptoms such as bloating, constipation and diarrhea.

There is absolutely no standard diet that can be used by all those with irritable bowel syndrome. The problem and symptoms vary from person to person. Hence, the diet prescription varies accordingly.

However, there are certain common guidelines and food groups one needs to focus on in order to steer clear of irritable bowel syndrome. In case, a diet plan does not seem to work at all, you need to consult a health care practitioner.

Certain lifestyle change and the way one takes his or her meals should be altered. Usually people are accustomed to take three large meals in a day. This is where the problem arises.

Large meals have the tendency to cause strain and compaction inside the stomach. Hence, it is advisable to take 4-5 small meals in a day as compared to the traditional three regular meals. This habit will help in eliminating the root cause that’s responsible to trigger off irritable bowel syndrome.

One should also reduce the in take of fat-based foods. The fat is hard to digest. In fact, it gets digested in a slow pace. Poor digestion is one of the major causes of irritable bowel syndrome. When the food is not digested properly, it may cause gas inside the intestine. This results in the rise of many symptoms, thereby, aggravating the problem.

Dietary fat restricts the movement of gas slower from the stomach to small intestine. People may suffer from discomfort due to this interruption of a primary function of the body.

Doctors usually prescribe increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, wheat- based products and beans. All these food items work towards providing relief from gastrointestinal tract vices. Fiber intake improves the bulkiness of the stool. This further helps in easy and better removal of the stool.

An adequate fluid intake of at least 1.5 liters on a daily basis is very important. The major source of fluid intake must be derived from plain water. You may also opt for some amount of dilute tea or juices. One should steer clear of carbonated soft drinks and coffee.

Regular and light exercises are important for reducing symptoms. Here are certain food items you should avoid when on a diet for irritable bowel syndrome.

- Caffeinated drinks such as tea, coffee and soda

- Alcohol

- Wheat

- Carbonated drinks such as soda

- Dairy products

- Fried foods

- Citrus fruits

- Artificial sweetness

- Fatty food items

- Red meats

- Chocolate

- Gluten

You must take special care of including foods rich in fiber such as kidney, beans, lima beans, whole-grain breads and cereals

Also include a lot of fruits and vegetables in your irritable bowel syndrome diet.

If you have been looking around for the information about detoxing, you might have found these words many a places that “detox begins with the healthy bowels”.

Having a regular and healthy bowel movement is the precondition for a problem free life. It is the bowels that are the most potent source of toxins in the body. So at any cost, we should keep the bowels clean, otherwise the whole body will be toxified once again.

Now in the extreme cases of toxicity, tools like enemas or colonic irrigations are used to displace the long impacted fecal matters from the walls of colon and intestine.

But without going through these procedures, you can get the same result through diet. Only it may take a bit longer to produce the same effect as an enema or colonic. Following a detox diet, the normal flora in the intestines may be completely washed out. You should be extremely patient in helping the bowel regenerate them with the help of probiotics to restore that balance.

Constipation and irregular or slow bowel movements are the result of unthinking loading of wrong foods and sedentary lifestyle. If the wastes are not eliminated adequately, the toxins remain in the body and are reabsorbed by the liver for recycling and elimination. This increased toxic level does not only raise the cholesterol level, it also leads to the growth of pathogenic microorganisms which soon outnumber the natural bowel floras.
But once the bowels starts to move properly again, everything else will fall into other things are taken care of.

The simplest way to induce the bowels moving once again is by consuming a high fiber diet. High fiber diet typically consists of fresh fruits and vegetables. If you want to increase the fiber content of your diet, you can have psyllium husk powder by mixing it in one glass of water. The additional fiber contents in the food add volume to the stool on the one hand and on the other hand it helps to reduce the time of bowel movement. This results in better and more toxin elimination. As more amount of toxins start to be flushed out from the system, the overall health improves.

The herbals provide the best solution for improving the bowel functions. There are many types of herbal bowel cleansers. Some of them work as bowel stimulants. Others work as laxatives.

As for example, the slippery elm is a good laxative, while the herbs like cascara sagrada or aloes and senna act as the bowel stimulant.

Herbal bowel combination formulas are considered to be the ideal solution for bowel cleansing, for these products not only encourage the bowels to move, but nourish the natural floras so that bowels resume their normal movement on their own.

One in five Northern Americans has irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which makes it one of the most common disorders diagnosed today. Irritable bowel syndrome usually hits the person around age 20 and is more common among women than in men.

Irritable bowel syndrome is actually a disease, although doctors consider it a functional disorder. However, even though the syndrome can cause considerable pain and discomfort, it does not actually damage the digestive system.

Irritable bowel syndrome disturbs the normal functions of the colon, particularly how the muscles in the intestines work, causing a lot of embarrassment and pain. Irritable bowel syndrome does not cause internal bleeding, but may worsen a medical condition if you already have one.

No one really knows why certain people develop IBS. Researchers believe that people with Irritable bowel syndrome have sensitive colons that react to aggravating foods and certain emotional conditions, most commonly, to stress, conflict, or upsets. Antidepressants are often used to relieve stress-related irritable bowel syndrome symptoms. Some doctors link colon sensitivity to weak immune systems.

No cure has been found yet for irritable bowel syndrome. Your doctor might prescribe fiber supplements or occasional laxatives to ease constipation, as well as medicines to help with diarrhea, or drugs that calm down abdominal pain, but careful eating is the most important step in reducing irritable bowel syndrome symptoms. Many irritable bowel syndrome sufferers can successfully control their symptoms with simple diet changes. Quite often, when you increase your fiber intake, Irritable bowel syndrome symptoms are relieved.

Eating more fiber can be easier than you think. Whole grain breads and cereals, fruits, and vegetables are both delicious and rich in healthy fiber. Fiber-rich diet results in regular bowel movements and better colon cleansing. However, fiber will make you feel worse if you have pain or diarrhea because high-fiber diets may cause some discomfort at first, but do not panic. You simply need a few days to adjust to the new diet. Positive changes take time if your colon is more irritated than normally.

When starting fiber-rich diet, stick to plain foods like white rice, plain unflavored oatmeal, rice cereal, pasta, peeled potatoes. Incorporate insoluble fibers carefully by blending fresh fruit with soy or rice milk making delicious and nutritious cocktails. You can always add vegetables into soups or pasta sauces. Grilled, not fried, fish filet or low-fat chicken breast goes well with your pasta or rice. Eat fruits and vegetables as much as possible. To increase fiber intake, drink psyllium or flaxseed dissolved in water, such as Citrucel or Metamucil.

In general, try eating foods that are low in fat and high in carbohydrates, such as whole grain pasta and breads, unprocessed (not quick-cooking) rice and cereals. Avoid food that is high in fat, insoluble fiber, caffeine, coffee, carbonation, or alcohol.

When relieving irritable bowel syndrome symptoms through dietary means, you should keep your water intake at a maximum. Water prevents dehydration, especially if you have diarrhea. Drink plain water. Carbonated drinks, such as sodas, may result in increased levels of gas and cause pain in the abdomen.

Irritable bowel syndrome may require you to change the way you eat your meals. Big portions of food can cause cramping and diarrhea. To prevent these occurrences eat smaller portions and plan your meals so that you eat more frequently. Less food requires less effort from your bowels, so the message is to eat little and often.

When following these simple diet guidelines people can start living a normal, happy, outgoing life. Diarrhea and pain should reduce in just a few days. Constipation, however, can take several weeks to relieve, but it is worth persevering. Besides, you will look and feel healthier, too!

Irritable bowel syndrome or IBS is the most commonly diagnosed intestinal disorder in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. It is not a disease but a collection of symptoms like abdominal pain, which is the most common symptom, abdominal bloating or distension and irregular bowel patterns characterized by diarrhea, constipation or both. There is no definite cause or cure for the condition but several types of irritable bowel treatment have been developed to provide sufferers with the same degree of comfort and functionality as any other non-IBS sufferer.

Dietary changes are an indispensable type of treatment that can greatly prevent development of the condition or reduce the symptoms. Since the disorder involves the digestive system, food and drink are usually linked with symptoms. There is no universal diet that can best treat irritable bowel syndrome but there are useful dietary guidelines to follow to avoid triggers.

The gut functions can be significantly affected by changes in diet. The gut flora (the million of micro-organisms that live in the gut, both friendly and not) must be well-maintained in order to properly digest and absorb the nutrients from food. Imbalances in the gut flora can cause proliferation of harmful microorganisms that can hamper the entire process and produce untoward results, which can give rise to IBS symptoms.

Any foods high in fat or highly processed and caffeinated, carbonated or alcoholic beverages must be avoided to avoid irritation in the gastrointestinal tract. These types of food can cause the waste material to compact due to its generally low fiber content slowing down the pace of bowel movement resulting in constipation.

Processed goods and beverages can form gas, which accumulates in the digestive tract and the stomach causing bloating, gassiness and pain from the pressure. These gases can cause irritation and thereby causing forceful responses by the gastrocolic reflex (This is the reflex that causes contractions in the colon responsible for moving waste along its length)

Continue reading to discover natural methods to alleviate IBS symptoms and sign up for our Free relieving IBS newsletter.

The gastrocolic reflex normally activates when food enters into the stomach. If there are disturbances in the digestive tract due to gas, or trigger foods, the gastrocolic reflex will be impaired which will result in abnormal formation of stools and its either hasty or very slow movement.

The colon contains gel and liquids to adequately balance the composition of stool but if there is dysfunction in the gastrocolic reflex, too much or too little liquid will be provided in forming and moving the bowel which will then result in diarrhea or constipation. The changes in the reflex may be intermittent which explains the alternating episodes on some occasions.

Choosing the right foods rich in soluble fiber and drinking a lot of water can greatly help in reducing the usual symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.

Irritable bowel treatment using changes in diet is an approach that has helped millions and allowed them to understand and control the triggers that cause many of the symptoms of their condition.

Being a chronic gastrointestinal disorder, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is closely connected with the food we eat, and the way we eat it. This is why diet plays a very important role in alleviating or aggravating IBS. For the gut to properly function in digesting and moving waste material, a diet, modified according to the needs of the sufferer must be followed. Several food categories and methods of eating are more beneficial and are included in any recommended diet for irritable bowel syndrome sufferers.

Although symptoms are generally similar for most irritable bowel syndrome sufferers, there is no general pattern to be strictly followed in creating the optimum diet to relieve symptoms. Each diet is individualized, according the predominant symptoms they are suffering from, any specific allergies or intolerance they may have, their lifestyle as well as the patient’s personal preferences.

A dietary regime will usually begin with a general diet that has been shown to relieve symptoms in the majority of people, but changes may be made throughout the course of treatment, to adjust to the symptoms presented, as well as individual preferences.

Continue reading to discover what foods in an IBS diet can help relieve symptoms, and sign up for our free newsletter.

There are proven effects that some foods have on the gastrointestinal tract, which is why the content of the diet, as well as the manner of eating must be carefully observed to attain results. Generally, foods that make symptoms worse, by increasing abdominal pain and worsening bowel habits, are processed products, gas-forming fruits and vegetables, alcohol, lactose and caffeine. Also those foods high in fat and insoluble fiber are usually excluded initially from the diet.

The different categories of food can be detrimental to the passage of waste material in the intestinal tract and the colon. Adverse effects can cause pain in the area, as pressure of the contractions excites the nerve endings and also cause the swelling of the colon or abdominal distension, due to air accumulation.

These restricted foods are those that have been categorized as being gastrointestinal stimulants or irritants, which hamper the gastrocolic reflex. When there is a dysfunction of the gastrocolic reflex, digestion, absorption and evacuation can be difficult.

Soluble fiber can greatly aid in bowel movement, by relieving and relaxing the muscles in the intestines responsible for moving digested particles. In the case of irritable bowel syndrome, there is either hypercontractility (excessive contracting), which hastens the movement of the bowel, or hypocontractility (not enough contracting), which delays the movement of the bowel. The former can cause diarrhea, while the latter can cause constipation. It is not uncommon for both conditions to occur alternately in irritable bowel syndrome.

Soluble fiber can significantly help ease the contractions, which can reduce pain and discomfort in the area and stop both diarrhea and constipation episodes.

Choosing the right diet for irritable bowel syndrome relief is important. The identification of trigger foods and the introduction of foods that help ease symptoms, while restricting those that cause the symptoms to worsen is a slow but essential part of overcoming IBS.

The cleanliness of your Intestines with our modern diet of fast food, pesticides, fertilizers, additive, colouring, flavouring, irradiation, sugar, high fat intake etc.. is under tremendous pressure.

Dr. Bernard Jensen in his book “Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management” claimed that over 95% of people he saw in his consultations were constipated. This may well be your case!

Although you may have daily bowel movements, are you sure that 100% of the nutrients your body does not need are coming out? Is it possible that only 99.9% are rejected and the rest sticks to your intestines? How long has this been going on? What will this mean 10 or 20 years from now?

Some health experts say that 90% of all sickness and diseases are related to an unclean colon! At the beginning of this 21st century, statistics tell us that one female in three and one male in nearly two will get cancer. More and more people are dying from Colon cancer than ever before. It now is one of the top three cancer amongst men and women together. Individually, colon cancer claims the lives of nearly 50,000 men and women annually and yet most people still think “it won’t happen to me”.

The intestines can store a vast amount of partially digested, putrefying matter (as well as drugs and other toxic chemicals) for decades. The average person stores between 5 to 25 POUNDS of waste accumulated over the years in their colon. Some bowels, when autopsied, weighed up to 40 pounds and their diameter were 12″ (30cms) with only a narrow passage through which faeces could go.

That 40 pounds was due to caked layers of encrusted mucous mixed with faecal matter called a mucoid plaque. This bizarrely resembles hardened blackish-green truck tire rubber. Mucoid plaque may vary considerably, depending on the chemical conditions in a person’s intestines. It may be hard and brittle; it may be firm and thick; tough, wet, and rubbery; soft, thick, and mucoid; or soft, transparent, and thin; it can range in colour from light brown, black, or greenish-black to yellow or grey, and sometimes emits an intensely foul odour. At body temperature (98F degree’s or 37C), the plaque begins to rot and decay, sending toxins and poisons into the blood stream and throughout the body, causing endless health problems.

Waste build up causes bacteria and toxins to spread throughout the body resulting in sickness and even death.

If you have had a diet with regular helpings of some of the following:

* Meat: including chicken, beef, pork/ ham, sausages, bacon, lamb, poultry, eggs etc..

* Dairy products including cheese, yogurt, butter, milk

* Sugar including cakes, biscuits, chocolate, tinned food etc..

* Coffee or tea * Deep fried foods

* Hydrogenated fats

* White flour Then, you most likely have impacted faecal matter in your colon.

Dr. Richard Schulze believes that some of the methods for colon cleansing don’t work any more. This is due to our diet being so far removed from what it should be. Our diet is generally now full of food that has been changed in many ways from what nature intended. Chemicals are added, nutrients and fibres are removed, heating processes change the molecular structure of the food and destroy any life energy. In addition, we now get hardly any exercise, whereas our forebears used to walk everywhere. And then there’s the added stress of today’s style of living, and electromagnetic stress (from computers, mobile phones, cars, etc.).

Believe it or not, Dr. Richard Schulze and other doctors have had people in their clinic who had only ONE BOWEL MOVEMENT A MONTH! So where did all that food go? These people had their bowels frozen solid. Their other organs were being squashed by all the extra material down there.

There is no “one way”, no “magic bullet. But there are ways to cleanse your colon. The best methods include nutrition and herbal cleanses. These are the very things that your doctor won’t tell you about – because they never learned them. The average doctor learns around 4-20 hours of nutrition during a FIVE-YEAR degree.

In addition to learning about nutrition, many people have had great results from doing an occasional herbal cleanse, of the colon, kidney and liver. The MOST important cleanse to do is colon cleansing, because if you have a dirty colon with impacted faecal matter, this will create extra toxins which the other organs then have to continually detoxify.

* Famous herbalists such as Dr. John Christopher, Dr. Jensen and Paavo Airola, ALL believed that a major cause of most disease is a dirty bowel. The Merck Manual, the medical industry’s standard text for the diagnosis and treatment of disease, tells us that colon degeneration is increasing at an alarming rate.

What to do? Since “Death begins in the colon,” your nutritional program should begin with a good colon-cleansing program. Toxins and waste build up in your colon just like they do in the pipes of your home. Both demand immediate attention or the results can be disastrous!

Your colon is one of the largest muscles in your body and should be exercised regularly. Of course, physical exercise is beneficial for the colon, but water and fibre is even MORE important. Fibre is a bulking agent that gives the colon the resistance it needs in order to remain firm and active. If the colon is inactive, it will soon grow weak, just like any other muscle. Colon inactivity may hinder the movement of waste material along the intestinal track to be eliminated from the body. You should learn how to eat healthily.

Colon Cleansing promotes Good Health. Gets rid of most of the toxins that are inside your colon that are causing your body not to perform, as it should! I know this is a subject that you don’t hear much about. But, what if no one talks about it? More people have problems with their colon than most people realise.

Apart from the poisonous effect this has on your body, waste build up prevents the proper nutrient absorption your body so badly needs. By not eating healthy foods, and not exercising on a regular basis, our system has a tough time digesting foods properly. If your digestive system is not working properly, it also makes it very hard to lose weight because your body’s not breaking down and excreting all the food you eat.

For a system to be “regular”, it should produce 2-3 bowel movements a day, shortly after each meal. Internal cleansing is more important than external cleansing. The Regeneration System Colon Cleansing System is an all-natural, safe way to keep your system clean and healthy. Many people stay away from Colon Cleanse herbs as they believe that they will have the negative effects of a laxative.

But natural herbal ingredients work gently together to simply aid in the digestion of your food and to cleanse the colon of stored waste. You will not have to panic and look for the nearest toilets. It is all very natural! Keeping your system clean leads to a lifetime of better health. Taking a “Colon Cleansing Program” can help you:

* Remove Deadly Toxins

* Remove Parasites

* Prevent Toxicity

* Aid in Weight Loss

* Prevent Sickness

* Prevent Deadly Diseases

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common problem with the intestines. In people with IBS, the intestines squeeze too hard or not hard enough and cause food to move too quickly or too slowly through the intestines. IBS usually begins around age 20 and is more common in women.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome IBS is more prevalent than we think. The primary symptom of IBS is abdominal pain and cramp after eating – resulting in diarrhea, constipation, gas or bloating. Some may find mucous in the feces. These symptoms usually persist for at least 90 days before an IBS diagnosis is considered. Most people only have mild symptoms, and fortunately, a proper diet can usually minimize symptoms.

Causes

Doctors are not sure what causes IBS. The nerves and muscles in the bowel appear to be extra sensitive in people with IBS. Muscles may contract too much when you eat. These contractions can cause cramping and diarrhea during or shortly after a meal. Or the nerves may react when the bowel stretches, causing cramping or pain.

Symptoms

Abdominal pain, bloating, and discomfort are the main symptoms of IBS. However, symptoms can vary from person to person. Some people have constipation, which means hard, difficult-to-pass, or infrequent bowel movements. Often these people report straining and cramping when trying to have a bowel movement but cannot eliminate any stool, or they are able to eliminate only a small amount. If they are able to have a bowel movement, there may be mucus in it, which is a fluid that moistens and protect passages in the digestive system. Some people with IBS experience diarrhea, which is frequent, loose, watery, stools.

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil is widely used for irritable bowel syndrome. It is thought to reduce the abdominal pain and bloating of irritable bowel syndrome, possibly by blocking the movement of calcium into muscle cells in the intestines and easing excessive muscle contraction there. Peppermint is considered a carminative herb, which means that it is used to eliminate excess gas in the intestines.

Partially Hydrolyzed Guar Gum

Partially hydrolyzed guar gum (PHGG) is a water soluble, non-gelling fiber that may help to reduce constipation and to a lesser extent diarrhea and abdominal pain in people with irritable bowel syndrome. PHGG also appears to increase the amount of beneficial bacteria, lactobacilli and bifidobacteria in the intestines.

Diet

Dietary fiber may lessen IBS symptoms in many cases. Whole grain breads and cereals, beans, fruits, and vegetables are good sources of fiber. Consult your doctor before using an over-the-counter fiber supplement. High-fiber diets keep the colon mildly distended, which may help to prevent spasms from developing. Some forms of fiber also keep water in the stools, thereby preventing hard stools that are difficult to pass.

Limit or eliminate foods that may make diarrhea worse, including caffeine, alcohol, fatty foods, gas-producing foods (such as beans, cabbage, and broccoli), and the artificial sweeteners sorbitol and xylitol (often used in sugarless gum and sugarless candy).

To reduce constipation, add fiber to your diet, drink plenty of water, and get regular exercise. Keep a daily diary of what you eat and whether you experience symptoms after eating.
